Tommy La Stella Apologizes to Cubs Fans, Live on the Air While at First Base (VIDEO)

Chicago Cubs

The Marquee broadcast right now features a mic’d up Anthony Rizzo at first base, and he and we were treated to old friend Tommy La Stella reaching first base on a slap single, as he does. There, Rizzo advised La Stella that he was mic’d up and live, and asked if La Stella wanted to say anything to Cubs fans.

La Stella was ready with a quick response, and he made all of us crack up:

Ha. In fairness to La Stella, he had some nice spurts with the Cubs (.273/.356/.397, 104 wRC+ overall), even if he didn’t finally break out until after he was traded to the Angels. And, like Rizzo said, hey, the Cubs won a championship in 2016 with La Stella on the roster!

Ah. Mic’d up fun. Do it morrrrrrrrre!
