With a positive test yesterday and then four other players being placed in close-contact quarantine, today was going to be an issue for the Washington Nations on the roster front. Not what you want to see for Opening Day. So … we won’t see it.
The game is getting postponed against the Mets because of the COVID issues:

Like we saw last year, this is the right approach when there are questions about spread among teammates, because you really don’t want to risk further spread to others in the clubhouse on game day or to the other team you’re playing.
Now the question is how much spread has their already been on the Nationals, and how long of a postponement are we talking about? Is this a situation where more testing is needed and the game just gets kicked to tomorrow, like an Opening Day rainout? Or is this a more serious issue … on the dang first day of the season?
UPDATE: The game won’t be Friday, either:
Also: Mets-Nats for Friday is postponed.
