WATCH: Benches Clear Between Cardinals and Reds as Molina, Arenado, and Castellanos Get Into It

Chicago Cubs

I still love Nick Castellanos. He was only briefly a Cubs player, but not only was he AWESOME in his time with the Cubs, he also just seemed like a really impressive, engaged, thoughtful, energetic dude. The kind of guy you’d want on your team. The kind of guy who would get so pumped up when scoring against the Cardinals that he would tick off Yadi Molina and cause the benches to clear.

Like he just did:

You could see that Molina and new Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado did not take kindly to Castellanos getting pumped in the face of Cardinals pitcher Jake Woodford. So they went after him.

A little context for Castellanos’s move? He maybe didn’t care for getting hit to reach base in the first place:

Eventually things cooled down, but we’ll see if there are after-effects. Castellanos was ultimately the only player ejected, despite it being Molina who went after Castellanos from behind, and Arenado came barreling through. I mean, look at Molina grabbing Castellanos’s neck:
