Tonight’s matchup against the Brewers marks the first of nine head-to-head games this month. After that, these two teams won’t face off again until the very end of June. And considering that (1) the Cubs need to get off to a good start to avoid a mid-season fire sale and (2) the Brewers might be the NL Central standing most in their way, it would be *especially* good to win as many as these early games as possible.
Trevor Williams is taking the ball for Chicago tonight, which is not only his Cubs debut, but also a pretty special moment for his father, in particular:
Since my earliest memories I have loved the Cubs. Tonight, I will watch with pride as my son takes the mound wearing a Cub uniform. It will be a moment that I will never forget! Go Cubs Go!!!

The Cubs are going with a very different look in their lineup tonight against the lefty, Brett Anderson, with Kris Bryant playing right field for Jason Heyward, Ian Happ covering left for Joc Pederson, Jake Marisnick covering center for Happ, and Matt Duffy making his Cubs starting debut for Kris Bryant at third. You can read more on those particular decisions right here.
Go Cubs.
