The Cubs are hitting homers too fast for me to keep up! And I love it!
They’re now up to three homers in the INNING, with Willson Contreras kicking things off, and now Javy Báez and David Bote going back-to-back!
We’ve said it for years now, but when Javy Báez lets the ball get deep – taking advantage of his unique power and bat speed – he can hit the ball the other way as well as anyone in baseball. (Literally, his oppo number are among the best in baseball.)
Here’s hoping this is a good sign for Javy, on his first blast of the year, going the other way. And then David Bote followed immediately with a huge blast of his own:

Bote absolutely crushed that one (111.2 mph off the bat!). His 421 feet plus Javy’s 379 feet means the two got a perfect 800 feet worth of homers there.
