The Cubs will be without first base coach Craig Driver for a while as, unfortunately, he has tested positive for COVID-19.
Driver had already stayed back in Chicago on this road trip because he was “under the weather” before the Cubs departed, so now we know why. The Cubs were being proactive in keeping him away from the rest of the team, and thank goodness for that. Testing this week has all come back negative:
Cubs 1B coach Craig Driver, who is back in Chicago, has tested positive for COVID-19, the team says.
Contact tracing by Cubs determined no one in the traveling party was a close contact. All testing done Wednesday, Thursday & yesterday on the traveling party came back negative.

Quality Assurance Coach Mike Napoli is coaching first base in Driver’s absence. Hopefully he’ll make a full recovery soon, and the efforts to keep him separated from folks was wholly successful.
