The Braves decided to return the homer party favor on the Cubs tonight, going deep five times, including four in the first inning.
Kyle Hendricks, who hasn’t pitched in a bit and does frequently find himself giving up a bit more hard contact in the first, kept falling behind Braves hitters, and then kept getting tagged. He managed to straighten out enough to give the Cubs a few innings from there, but the damage was mostly done. Alec Mills didn’t have it, either, so the damage, uh, got even more done. And then Ryan Tepera came into a bad situation and made it worse. Damage. Yeah. Lots of it.
Anthony Rizzo went deep a couple times, which was very nice to see. Outside of that, there was little nice to see here on Sunday Night Baseball.
