The Cubs’ bats came right out of the gate smoking the ball today, with Brewers lefty Brett Anderson clearly not feeling great. He’s dealt with back issues before, and after four straight rockets to open the game, he was pulled.

The Cubs just kept blitzing from there (including so much more here in the second that I can’t even keep up as I’m typing – Jason Heyward just hit a run-scoring triple to put the Cubs up 9-0 and Heyward scores on a grounder, so it’s 10-0). Enjoy Marisnick clearing the bases with a double, Hoerner doubling to cap the scoring in the first, and then Rizzo and Báez going back-to-back in the second:
