Zach Davies dug the Cubs into an ugly early hole by allowing a four-run first inning, but Kris Bryant just UNDUG the Cubs with one swing.
Yup – it’s a grand slam for KB:

Bryant hit that one hard – 102 mph – but skied it so high that it barely had enough to get out. That 40-degree launch angle is going to be one of the higher homers this year I suspect.
Credit there to Davies and Nico Hoerner for singling to get that little rally underway, and then Anthony Rizzo for working a walk to load them for Bryant, who continues his stellar April. That’s already his sixth homer of the year, and his line is up to .297/.376/.635 with a 169 wRC+ (i.e., 69% better than league average).
