Well, if you don’t count Spring Training, we’re finally going to see Jon Lester pitching in a non-Cubs uniform. He’s about to be activated by the Nationals after missing the first month of the season while on the COVID list.
Lester will start tonight for the Nationals, who signed him this offseason after six years with the Cubs:
Sources: The Nationals plan to start Jon Lester against the Marlins tonight. They are still finalizing their corresponding roster moves, but the 37-year-old is on track to make his team and season debut.

Glad that Lester is both OK from the COVID, and ramped up to fitness to pitch. I wish only good things for him this year, and I hope that this COVID issue doesn’t wind up muddying what could have been a great bounce-back year for him (remember how he had that thyroid surgery before the season because they’d figured out why he was physically down a bit last year?).
