The Reds are winning today’s Home Run Derby ever so slightly, but Kris Bryant is doing his part to get the Cubs back into it.
A couple innings after homering together with Anthony Rizzo in the third, Bryant hit his second of the day:
With 2 HR and a 2B today, @KrisBryant_23 is now tied for the @MLB lead in home runs (9) and extra-base hits (19)! #KBoom pic.twitter.com/PXguzhx8st

As of this moment, Bryant, who also has doubled today, is up to a .330/.413/.723 slash line with a 200(!) wRC+. His 1.9 WAR is tied for tops in the NL right now.
He’s been one of the three or four best hitters in baseball so far this year. Quite clearly.
