OK, so here’s the setup: the Reds are in Colorado playing the Rockies, so hardcore Reds fans are gonna stand out, especially with limited capacity. And one fan was giving Reds outfielder Nick Castellanos some love and specific encouragement just before he homered in the 3rd inning. After Castellanos rounded the bases, he sought that fan out to give him a fist bump. Pretty cool and pretty unusual.
So why did Castellanos do it? What did the fan say to earn himself such a cool moment?
Well, I’ll let him explain, just like Castellanos did on the live Reds postgame:
Nick Castellanos fist bumped a fan after a home run and then let the fan tell the broadcast why after the game
“I told Nick he should imagine Rob Manfred’s face on the baseball.”

Oh my. That is hilarious, and also MLB is gonna be ticked about it. You just know they will. Castellanos already got suspended two games for having the audacity to get pumped in the relative proximity of Cardinals players, so who knows what he’ll get for this one …
