Keegan Thompson is just the latest in a growing line of home grown Cubs pitchers to contribute meaningfully at the big league level this season, but boy is he making his presence felt.
After coming in to clean up what was left of Zach Davies 6th inning (and doing so in style, including a couple of strikeouts WITH WHIFFS!), David Ross called on Keegan Thompson to hit for himself and ultimately pitch another inning. And while I’m sure Ross would’ve been fine with Thompson just standing there quietly as three strikes flew by, Thompson took a hack and notched himself his first big league hit!
