The Cubs kicked off the season series right last night, with a 12-3 tromp over the Cardinals. Another win tonight would secure the series win and bring the Cubs three games over .500 for the first time this season (they’d also pull within one game of first place, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves). Here’s David Ross’ lineup for Game 2.
Chicago Cubs Lineup:
1. Joc Pederson LF
2. Kris Bryant RF
3. Willson Contreras C
4. Anthony Rizzo 1B
5. Javier Baez SS
6. Ian Happ CF
7. Matt Duffy 3B
8. Nico Hoerner 2B
9. Adbert Alzolay P
Miles Mikolas missed the entire 2020 season after surgery to repair a flexor tendon in his right arm and he hasn’t debuted yet this year (that’d be tonight). Hopefully, the dust is thick and affects his ability to succeed or last deep into the game.
Mikolas, 32, has traditional lefty/righty splits for his career.
As usual, we’ll have your Pre-Gamin’ post closer to game time (6:15 CT).
