Today has not been a fun one to hit at Wrigley Field, and I don’t just mean because Adbert Alzolay has nasty stuff out there.
Hey, I’ll give Reds rookie starter Vladimir Gutierrez some credit, too, in his debut, but the brutal wind and cold at Wrigley Field today (late May!) is just knocking everything down. So you have to hit a laser beam if you want it to go out, and even then, it won’t be by much.
Enter David Bote with the first run of the game:

That’s 110.3 mph off the bat. Yeah, that’ll cut through the wind on the right line.
Bote is still struggling through an unproductive year, but maybe the power is coming a little bit? He’ll keep getting opportunities with so many guys out.
