If you’re a nerd, you heard it a lot last year: the Cubs really liked how utility man Patrick Wisdom was looking at the alternate site. The long-time Cardinals prospect and then Rangers player had always flashed the ability to hit in the upper minors, but circumstances prevented him from really getting a big league shot.
I wouldn’t say he’s yet “getting a big league shot,” but as a fill-in depth guy, he’s definitely taking advantage of the little time he’s getting. Having already singled in the game, Wisdom just went deep to center:

Through 14 plate appearances, Wisdom has already homered twice (and had another stolen by the wind), and is hitting a ridiculous .462/.500/1.000.
