Javy Baez Puts One Onto Waveland (On a Bounce!) with His 14th Homer of the Season

Javy Baez struck out three times tonight, but the crowd was still chanting his name when he stepped up to the plate with a runner on and 1 out in the bottom of the 7th inning. And because he lives for that moment, he delivered.

Watch him hit his 14th home run of the season onto Waveland … on a bounce, but whatever:

That was 111 MPH off the bat and traveled 384 feet in a hurry. It also brought Baez up to a 118 wRC+ for the season, 18% better than the league average hitter, and put the Cubs up by 5 runs late at Wrigley Field.
