If Joc Pederson had been healthy enough to play today, David Ross said his plan was to have Kris Bryant back at third base today for the first time since April 20. In isolation that’s fine, but Bryant at third – and Jason Heyward in a corner outfield spot together with Pederson – would’ve mean that breakout slugger Patrick Wisdom would’ve been on the bench today.
I don’t quite get that, myself, and it was all the more puzzling after Wisdom hit his obligatory homer:

Glad that guy got another start, because he just crushes the ball if it’s anywhere near the middle of the zone. Don’t make any mistakes against Patrick Wisdom. And don’t sit him again any time soon.
