In the top of the first inning, Kris Bryant was hit by a pitch (and later removed from the game), and the Cubs struck out three times, including with the bases loaded. One of those strikeouts, the first, came with Javy Baez in the batter’s box. It was a bummer of a way to start the game, overall.
But Patrick Wisdom, who came in to replace Bryant, singled in the top of the 3rd, and Javy Baez stepped up and launched one the other way to get the Cubs on the board.
That made the mood a little lighter.
And, boy, do I love when he goes the other way (109 MPH off the bat). That’s when you know he’s locked in. 2-0 Cubs early.
Javy and Tacos. A match made in heaven. @obvious_shirts
