Pre-Gamin’: Cubs at Mets (6:10 CT) – Lineups, Broadcast Info, Game Thread

Chicago Cubs

By the time you’re reading this, I should be in the air on my way to Park City, Utah. I am going to snag some in-air Wifi though, so maybe I can fire away a couple of Tweets from my … middle seat. Ugh. Not looking forward to that.

I am looking forward to Kyle Hendricks, though (what a seamless transition), who’s looking to continue his streak of six straight games with 6.0 or more innings pitched and 3 or fewer earned runs allow (it’s actually 7 of his last 8 and 8 of his last 10, if you want to go further back). That’s a really nice stretch. The question is will it be enough to get this game to the Cubs bullpen with a lead. That would require some offense against another tough pitcher, Marcus Stroman, and the Cubs bats are struggling at the moment (the absence of Nico Hoerner and Matt Duffy can be felt).

Circling back to Hendricks for a second, I want to point out that despite the recent success, he has allowed a ton of homers lately – 3 multi-homer games in his last four starts, alone – but the Mets are really not a home run hitting team (62 HRs, 27th in MLB). So maybe this matchup will work out in his favor. Let’s hope so. We can’t keep expecting the Brewers to lose.

Go Cubs.
