I don’t care that he’s not on the Cubs anymore – I loved what Kyle Schwarber was doing. I wanted to see him keep doing it. Because it was ridiculous and fun and, hey, good for him.
Unfortunately, baseball can be very cruel sometimes:
Schwarber rounded first awkwardly, seemed to lose his footing just enough for the rest of his body to have to adjust at the last second, and that’s when he felt it. You could tell where he was grabbing was his hamstring, and that sucks. Coming off the field, he couldn’t even really put much weight on the leg at all.
As we’ve seen with so many Cubs players this year, any kind of moderate hamstring strain is going to cost Schwarber more than a month, which you hate to see with the zone he was in.
