Adbert Alzolay is starting for the Cubs tonight, coming off a relatively great outing against the Reds in Cincinnati: 7.0 IP, 5H, 3ER, 1BB, 6Ks. This will be his 15th start of the season and fourth since returning from the injured list. In terms of things to watch … Alzolay has been allowing a bit too much hard contact lately, so that’s what I’ll be eyeing tonight.
As we discussed earlier, the Cubs are playing without Kris Bryant, Javy Baez, and Willson Contreras tonight (the first two are injured, the third is just getting some rest), so this won’t be an easy one. Oh, and we’re down to just the final four games before the All-Star break. Go Cubs.
