Chicago Cubs prospects Brennen Davis and Manny Rodriguez were invited to participate in the All-Star Futures Game, a prospect showcase on the Sunday before the All-Star Game. It is often a particularly fun place to see playing some of the prospects you’ve heard so much about.

Which is always great to see. But sometimes they really, REALLY go off, like Brennen Davis is today. The Cubs’ top prospect is clearly enjoying his time at Coors Field, as he’s already homered TWICE:

Davis is generally considered a consensus top 70ish prospect, but his continued breakout at Double-A – where he’s very young for the league and is only playing just now in his second pro HALF-season – is going to have pundits thinking twice in their re-ranks. Sure seems like a top 30 guy to me.
