Chicago Cubs

It was fun to be at the ballpark, as it always is, but not getting to see Kris Bryant or Anthony Rizzo pinch hit today – one last time at Wrigley Field juuuuuust in case – was quite a let down. I kinda understand why, and I know that Bryant was in position, ready to hit if he was the tying run. Still, a bummer. Much more of a bummer than the loss, itself.

It was nice to see the dingers – Patrick Wisdom, Willson Contreras, and Ian Happ – and nice to see Jake Jewell notch quite a few Ks in his Cubs debut. Oh, and Alec Mills actually wasn’t bad, just kinda got dinked and dunked a lot.

Outside of that, though, it was just a game where I stuck a nacho helmet on my head for a good cause.
