Patrick Wisdom made a LOT of noise when he first joined the Cubs this season, but then the league made their big adjustment and the total offensive production went quiet as the strikeout rate began to climb. But just as you might’ve hoped, Wisdom has adjusted back. Big time.
Watch as he smashes his second homer of the series and 16th of the year against the Reds at Wrigley Field.

Overall, Wisdom is slashing .271/.339/.613 (150 wRC+) this season, and the strikeout rate is down to 38.6% (yeah … it was really high before this).
If he can continue to develop, making tiny adjustments here and there over the course of the season, the Cubs may have themselves a legitimate everyday player for next season – especially with his fantastic arm, great defense at third base, and overall positional versatility (he can pretty much play LF, RF, 3B, and 1B).
By the way, this is all especially important as the Cubs anticipate several position player losses at the end of the year (or, well, you know … much sooner).
