I am currently blogging – here, on Facebook, and on Twitter (hash tag #BNBlogathon for those who want to jump into the fray themselves) – for 40 hours straight, past MLB’s July 30 Trade Deadline and through the Cubs/Nationals game Friday night, thanks to your generous donations to Make-A-Wish. I’ll be doing recaps on the process throughout the day, but you’ll also see normal posting (Bullets, news, Pre-Gamin’, EBS, etc.), as well as a significant uptick in rumor/trade posts.
Yeah, the comedown from everything that happened running up to midnight has left me without a lot of energy at this point. I’m not sleepy, fortunately, but I am definitely TIRED. I just feel very lacking for energy, which is probably equal parts being up so long (and the hot ballgame) and some of that “down-ness” coming through about the Rizzo trade.

Current Thoughts About the Chicago Cubs’ Trade Deadline Strategy/Execution:
It doesn’t necessarily concern me that Kris Bryant and Zach Davies are going up to the Deadline – I think that could have been predicted/expected, because of the positional rental market (for Bryant) and the depth nature of Davies’ expected role – but I am a little surprised there hasn’t been movement on the Craig Kimbrel front. I do think Max Scherzer was holding things up, and now maybe Jose Berrios – both are starters, but they are pricey, impact pitchers – but I kinda thought a team would step up by now with a clear, big offer for one of the most impactful players available.
Current Beverage/Stimulant of Choice:
After finishing up the Red Bull, I’m just sipping on some Coke Zero. And still drinking plenty of water, mom!
Current Emotional Status:
Like I said up top, I’m just kinda down. I want to cover trades, obviously, but that doesn’t mean I particularly want to cover Rizzo getting traded away.
Strangest Thought Passing Through My Mind:
My head is kinda turning to mush. This happens every Blogathon around this time – the thoughts come very slowly, the words muddled, etc. I think usually it kinda goes away when the sun comes up and I’ve tricked myself into think I just got a really crummy night’s sleep and it’s a new day.
