The Cubs shook of the despair of yesterday and won tonight’s game against the Nationals. See? Everything is just fine.
I’ll caveat up front that I was driving for the entirety of tonight’s game, so was only able to do radio. Would’ve liked to see Codi Heuer making his Cubs debut, but I’ll settle for watching the video tomorrow morning. He came into a tough spot – bases loaded, no outs – and went groundout, sac fly, groundout, so it was certainly successful.
Meanwhile, it was another great start for Kyle Hendricks, who had that blip last time out against the Reds, but otherwise continues to be himself. It’s good to have him and Willson Contreras still around, eh? Gotta have something!
I’m just loving what we’ve seen from this guy the last couple months …
