This is just madness. Having just been traded to the crosstown White Sox, and then having been deployed in a setup role, Craig Kimbrel was tasked with protecting a three-run lead today at Wrigley Field. Easy enough for the best reliever in baseball this year, right?
Well the ragtag Cubs went with singles from Matt Duffy and Frank Schwindel, and with two outs it was career journeyman Andrew Romine who did THIS against Kimbrel:

The dugout was going NUTS for Romine, 35, who hasn’t had many moments like that in his long career. And Romine was all smiles throughout, too. That was extremely fun. I feel a little bad for Kimbrel, but dang, man. Tony La Russa should’ve saved him for the 9th.
