The Cubs and Marlins are separated by just one game in the loss column with two more games to go in the series. Just thought you oughta know. Here’s the Cubs lineup for Game 2 against the right-hander Zach Thompson.
Chicago Cubs Lineup:
1. Rafael Oretega, CF
2. Frank Schwindel, 1B
3. Patrick Wisdom, 3B
4. Ian Happ, LF
5. David Bote, 2B
6. Austin Romine, C
7. Greg Deichmann, RF
8. Sergio Alcantara, SS
9. Zach Davies, P
Thompson, a 27-year-old rookie, doesn’t have a ton of innings to his name, but in the time he has pitched, he’s carried significant lefty/righty splits in favor of the southpaws:
vs. LHH: .237/.348/.395 (.329 wOBA)
vs. RHH: .177/.243/.292 (.237 wOBA)
As you can see, he’s been pretty good overall (3.09 ERA), but certainly has his vulnerabilities, which the Cubs will look to exploit this evening (Ortega, Happ, Deichmann, and Alcantara will bat from the left side).
As usual, we’ll have your full Pre-Gamin’ post closer to game time (5:10 CT).
