Chicago Cubs Lineup: Jason Heyward Returns

Chicago Cubs

The Cubs lineup gets back one familiar face today in Jason Heyward, who’s been on the injured list with left index finger inflammation since August 6th. He’ll reclaim his spot in right field, pushing Greg Deichmann back to Triple-A Iowa. Here’s the rest of the lineup for the finale in Miami.

Chicago Cubs Lineup:

1. Rafael Ortega, CF
2. Frank Schwindel, 1B
3. Ian Happ, LF
4. Matt Duffy, 3B
5. David Bote, 2B
6. Jason Heyward, RF
7. Robinson Chirinos, C
8. Andrew Romine. SS
9. Alec Mills, P

David Ross is sticking with a pretty familiar lineup across the board this afternoon, with Matt Duffy and Frank Schwindel playing themselves into an everyday role in the infield corners, with Rafael Ortega in center and leading off. Ian Happ and David Bote also find themselves in there almost everyday, but they do sometimes move around.

Romine is getting increasingly more looks at shortstop than Sergio Alcantara, and, as we’ve discussed, Robinson Chirinos is the new starting catcher for the time being.

As usual, we’ll have your full Pre-Gamin’ post closer to game time (12:10 CT).
