Through six innings, the Cubs were being no-hit by Royals lefty Kris Bubic. It was just flat out not competitive.
And then the rains came!
After a near 40-minute delay, the Royals decided to let Bubic go back out there to try to secure the no-hitter, and after a leadoff walk to Frank Schwindel, Patrick Wisdom put the no-hitter – and the shutout – to an end:

Yes, this is the kind of thing we have to celebrate these days. And if the Cubs want to go ahead and now lose to the Royals, I will not absolutely scream about it. Just sayin’.
