The Cubs once again got out to a 6-0 lead against the White Sox, and
nothing! No repeat of last night’s horror show. In fact, it was the Cubs that added on from there, and went on to win it 7-0. They jumped on Lance Lynn, with Rafael Ortega hitting a grand slam and Patrick Wisdom homering twice. That’s his second straight game with two homers, by the way.
Alec Mills cruised, allowing bupkis for his 8.1 innings of work. There was some decently hard contact mixed in, but most of it was on the ground. Just four hits and two walks, and then three strikeouts. Great, great night for a guy who has mostly been pretty darn solid as a starter this year with the Cubs.
