This is pretty awful. As the remnants of what was Hurricane Ida made its way northeast, the New York/New Jersey/Eastern Pennsylvania area was absolutely doused with intense rain, and massive flooding has followed.
An example of how bad things have been? The Somerset Patriots, the New York Yankees’ Double-A affiliate in New Jersey, woke this morning to find that their ballpark was almost completely underwater. I’ve never seen anything like this:

It’s impossible to know the extent of the damage when something unprecedented like this happens, and you just hope they can sort things out soon enough (a lot of folks depend on wages from minor league teams, and when they can’t operate, it’s a real issue). The organization is basically saying they don’t know what comes next:
