Chicago Cubs Lineup: The Static Lineup

Chicago Cubs

The Chicago Cubs are welcoming Kris Bryant and the San Francisco Giants to town later this afternoon, and they’re rolling with their new-normal lineup post deadline. Check it out.

Chicago Cubs Lineup:

1. Rafael Ortega, CF
2. Frank Schwindel, 1B
3. Ian Happ, LF
4. Willson Contreras, C
5. Patrick Wisdom, 3B
6. Jason Heyward, RF
7. David Bote, 2B
8. Sergio Alcántara, SS
9. Kyle Hendricks, P

No real surprises here, aside from Matt Duffy not starting his third game in a row. Did I miss him getting hurt or something? Feels unusual, even with the presence of David Bote. With that exception, this is basically as static as the Cubs lineup has been all season. Ortega up top … Schwindel, Happ, Contreras and Wisdom in the heart of the order … Heyward, whoever’s playing second base (Bote, today), Alcántara, and the pitcher closing it up.

As usual, we’ll have your full Pre-Gamin’ post closer to game time (1:20 CT).
