Despite repeatedly tying the game late, the Cubs couldn’t pull out the win tonight. Because, um, this happened:

That’s certainly a way to lose a game. A walk-off cross-up. Cool.
Apologies to Robinson Chirinos and Matt Duffy for their otherwise game-tying shots:

Matt Duffy's turn for a game-tying homer! pic.twitter.com/ny7JAdXQ4S

It can’t be often that you’d get homers from BOTH Matt Duffy and Robinson Chirinos and still lose a game. Alas.
I thought Alec Mills looked not-terrible tonight for four innings, and then that third time the order was enough to stall things out. It was not a great appearance – not even a particularly good one for Mills – but it was kinda what you expect from him on the lower end.
