Listen, I know the Cubs have hit two homers tonight, but you’ll just have to take my word for it … the wind is blowing in. WAY in. And while Trayce Thompson was able to find the small gap where the wind was actually helping for his home run, Willson Contreras went right at it for his 21st homer of the year.
Fortunately, he absolutely demolished this baseball:

Statcast had that blast at 113 MPH and if it wasn’t for the wind, it would’ve absolutely blown past it’s estimated distance of 385 feet. Contreras hasn’t be hitting quite as well as usual this season, but he is sitting at a comfortable 105 wRC+ with 21 long balls. You can do a whole lot worse than that.
Oh, and while you’re here … don’t forget: WILLSON CONTRERAS IS GOOD AT BASEBALL (and his shirt is on sale!)
