The Chicago Cubs had a winning October! Didn’t see that coming, did you?!
The Cubs close the year out taking the series in St. Louis thanks to today’s twice-delayed finale, with corner infielders Frank Schwindel and Matt Duffy guiding the offense, just as everyone would have predicted back in April. Something something Schwuffy.
Alec Mills finishes the year on a stronger note than he’d been playing recently, but not necessarily strong. And hey, Joe Biagini got into the game to finish things off, pitching to Tyler Payne.
We’ll have lots to get into about the close out of the season soon, but I’d be lying if I didn’t admit that today, specifically, had a feel of “OK, it’s over, now I can exhale.”
At least the Cubs gave us a record here at the close …
