For anyone looking to just catch up on all that happened in the MLB postseason yesterday, with four LDS games happening, here’s your roundup of the highlight packages.
The Astros kicked off the day by beating up on the White Sox late after a very tight game. Tony La Russa’s bullpen decisions are going to come under fire, particularly with Craig Kimbrel continuing to struggle outside of a closer spot:
That’s a 2-0 lead for the Astros now, as the series goes to Chicago for at least one game on Sunday night.
The Rays and Red Sox had an explosive Game 2 of their ALDS, with the Red Sox jumping out to an early lead … that Chris Sale immediately gave away. But the Red Sox started pouring it on after that and ultimately won in a blowout:
The series is now tied 1-1, and the Red Sox will host Game Three on Sunday afternoon.
The Brewers got a dominant Corbin Burnes outings to start their NLDS against the Braves, and a late Rowdy Tellez homer was all they needed. All the Brave got was a solo homer from a pearl-necklace-wearing Joc Pederson (that’s literally what he does, if you haven’t seen it yet):
Game Two is today at 4pm CT in Milwaukee, with Brandon Woodruff facing Max Fried.
And finally, the Giants blanked the Dodgers 4-0 on the strength of a great night from Logan Webb, and a huge offensive night from … yup, Kris Bryant:
Game 2 is tonight at 8pm CT in San Francisco, with Julio Urias facing Kevin Gausman.
