Postseason Pre-Gamin’: ALDS/NLDS – Lineups, Broadcast Info, Game Thread

We were supposed to have an action-packed 12-hour day of postseason baseball, but Mother Nature wasn’t having: Game 4 between the White Sox and Astros was postponed due to impending rain. They’ll play tomorrow (Tuesday) at 1:07 PM (CT) at Guaranteed Rate Field.

With that said, we still have a fantastic trio of games on tap today and a potential elimination game in Boston as the Red Sox have a shot at punching their ticket to the ALCS with a victory over Tampa Bay!

In the National League, both series shift venues tied at one-game-a-piece, with the Dodgers, Giants, Braves, and Brewers looking to gain series advantages today.

Milwaukee Brewers at Atlanta Braves – NLDS Game 3

With the series shifting to Atlanta today, the Brewers and the Braves are even at one-a-piece after Atlanta took Game 2 from Milwaukee on Saturday despite Brandon Woodruff recording a quality start (3.0 ER, 6.0 IP, 7 K, 1 BB) in the losing effort. Max Fried was excellent, tossing six innings of scoreless baseball while racking up nine strikeouts, and the bullpen shut the door with three scoreless innings of their own despite the Brewers having multiple runners on base in each of the final three frames.

We’ve got another great pitching matchup on tap today between these two clubs, with Freddy Peralta taking on Ian Anderson as these teams look for an advantage in a series that’s been highly contested thus far.

Tampa Bay Rays vs. Boston Red Sox – ALDS Game 4

Just three days after Collin McHugh allowed three runs in 1.2 innings of work and ultimately took the loss in Boston’s 14-run outburst in Game 2 on Friday, Kevin Cash turns to the veteran right-hander to open today’s game against the Red Sox with the Rays on the brink of elimination.

After walking off against the Rays yesterday at Fenway Park, it’ll be Eduardo Rodriguez tabbed for the third time five games this postseason for the Red Sox.

San Francisco Giants vs. Los Angeles Dodgers – NLDS Game 3

Once again in the nightcap slot, we have the Dodgers and Giants in a battle of 100-win teams, this time with the series shifting to Los Angeles with both sides looking to gain an advantage after splitting the first two games in San Francisco.

Max Scherzer takes the ball for the Dodgers opposed by former Dodger Alex Wood who will be making his first start of the series for the Giants. Scherzer, of course, was on the hill for the Dodgers’ Wild Card victory over the St. Louis Cardinals last week. According to Max Scherzer, it’s personal for the Dodgers and their fans. If I was San Francisco, I would be worried about a motivated Mad Max taking the ball in a swing game in a short series.
