The Braves took Game 1 by scoring early and holding a healthy lead, and then the Astros took Game 2 by doing pretty much the same thing. How about a game where things stay tight into the late innings this time around?
Houston Astros vs. Atlanta Braves – World Series Game 3
Young arms get the call on the biggest stage tonight, with Luis Garcia (24) facing Ian Anderson (23). Each was basically a rookie this year, was a key part of his team’s regular season success, and has made three postseason starts this year. The big difference is that Anderson has allowed just three earned runs over 12.0 innings, while Garcia (with a knee issue) has allowed 10 earned runs over 9.1 innings.
With the series heading to Atlanta, there are no DH’s tonight, so Yordan Alvarez and Jorge Soler have to head out into the outfield, where they are rather not good. It’d be wild if that factors directly into the game, and I’ll admit that’s maybe the ONE interesting thing about losing the DH when you head over to the NL park.
