Last night, the Braves took their second lead of the World Series, with a 2-0 win over the Astros. The series will stay in Atlanta for the next two games, which means the Braves *could* clinch this thing without trekking back into enemy territory. After all, they’re 6-0 at home so far this October.
Game Four is tonight at 7:09 CT. And, as always, you can catch it on FOX or ESPN 1000 radio.
Houston Astros vs. Atlanta Braves – World Series Game 4
Zack Greinke is taking the mound for the Astros tonight, following a pretty mediocre regular season (4.16 ERA), and it could wind up being his final start as an Astro (he’s 38 years old and a free agent at the of the World Series). He goes into this one with 20 starts (and 21 games) of postseason experience. The Astros are really counting on him:
“It’s super valuable to have a future Hall of Famer throwing for you,” Alex Bregman said as he looked beyond Friday’s 2-0 loss and ahead to a fascinating Saturday night matchup with the Astros trailing in the Series, 2-1. “He’s pitched in big situations. He’s pitched great for us in the World Series before. So we have a ton of confidence in him, and we want to play good defense behind him and give him some run support.”
The Braves, by contrast, are starting rookie reliever Dylan Lee, who has a grand total of 4.2 big league innings to his name, 2.0 innings in the regular season and 2.2 innings in Game 2 of the World Series. So, yeah, this is quite the assignment for him. Let’s see if he’s up to the challenge.
Go Braves (just my opinion).
