With Jon Lester announcing his retirement from baseball today, the love poured in from all corners. As did the fun memories. I figured you might want to share in them with me today, so I rounded up what I saw out there.

200 wins, 3 rings, a 2.51 postseason ERA and countless lives touched by your generosity.

“I don't want someone else telling me I can't do this anymore,” Jon Lester told @JesseRogersESPN. “I want to be able to hand my jersey over and say, 'Thank you.’”

Congratulations to three-time World Series winner Jon Lester on his retirement! Over 16 seasons with the @RedSox, @Athletics, @Cubs, @Nationals and @Cardinals, Lester won 200 games and pitched a no-hitter on May 19, 2008, at Fenway Park. Remember when the ball got stuck in Jon Lester's glove, so he had to toss it to Anthony Rizzo?
Do you remember that it happened TWICE? pic.twitter.com/h2JX8RLScI

Remember that time Tim McCarver said there was no way Jon Lester was going to throw over to first, and Tommy Pham believed it? pic.twitter.com/v2vWbLhrps

Wow. Jon Lester dealt with cancer and beat it. He pitched for two historic franchises and won World Series with both. His NVRQT acronym for his charity is so symbolic of his DNA and he walks on his own terms. Awesome. Congratulations to Jon Lester.

Putting down his credit card at four Division Street bars, buying Cubs fans 4,838 Miller Lites and leaving a 34 percent tip pretty much sums up the Jon Lester experience in Chicago.

One thing that rules about Jon Lester is he took an actual gamble signing on the promise the Cubs prospects would work out in late 2014 and 2 years later he was taking the mound at Beautiful and Historic Wrigley Field to start the World Series comeback
