It’s official now: the Chicago Cubs will open the 2022 MLB season at home against the Milwaukee Brewers on April 7. That was a game on the schedule before they were wiped last night (and then re-instated today). It’s currently set for 6:40pm CT.
A true Opening Day at Wrigley Field is a relatively rare thing – they usually open on the road and then get a home opener a series or two later – so enjoy it. I’ll be there in the bleachers, probably freezing. But happy.
That opening series is a four-gamer against the Brewers, after which the Cubs will head to Pittsburgh for two, and then to Colorado for four.
