Braves Sign Kenley Jansen

“You can have Freddie Freeman. We’ll take Kenley Jansen.”

What a wild turn of events.

Jansen, 34, is no longer the super elite closer he was 5-8 years ago, but he’s still a very effective reliever, and he was particularly strong in 2021. With the Braves, Jansen will presumably set up for Will Smith in a loaded bullpen. I’d dig in more, but I want to watch Marcus Stroman pitch right now.
