The spring stuff – really, it barely matters. There are so few circumstances where the manner in which a guy performs in Spring Training, much less his results, should impact your thinking about what lies ahead for a player’s season.
… but one of the cases where it is, I think, reasonable to take note is when there are open questions about a player’s health (and his performance ability in relation to that health). For example, a guy like Clint Frazier, we KNOW he can hit in the big leagues. What we didn’t know is whether he was fully healthy, and fully healthy enough to produce at a high level. We still don’t truly know the latter, and won’t until deep into the regular season, but we’re increasingly getting the picture that this guy is definitely healthy right now.
He just added to his spring resume with a nooooo doubter:

Two things I love about that: (1) for a big man with big arms, he got the barrel in on that one VERY well; and (2) the big smile on his face as he rounded the bases. Had to feel good.
