Chicago Cubs

What a fantastic Opening Day. Sure, I was cold as all get out, but I was among friends in the bleachers, among friends-of-friends, and among newly-made friends. The high fives were aplenty. The runs were just enough. And the ‘W’ flag flew high. I am nothing but smiles today.

The Cubs got a couple big hits from Ian Happ and Nico Hoerner, including Hoerner sending out the Cubs’ first homer of the season, laser beam style:

Happ’s big hit came as part of a three-hit day:

Seiya Suzuki’s debut wasn’t loud, but he certainly made his presence known, reaching base three times. Jason Heyward had a couple hits, Clint Frazier had a big pinch-hit double, and Kyle Hendricks was getting plenty of whiffs with the changeup. I’ll have to dig in a little more when I can see the video, but from the bleachers, today’s game just looked like a very good and happy one.

162-0, still available.
