Well, Anthony Rizzo and Kyle Schwarber each had their own shining moments at the plate today, homering in their first at-bats of the season. And now Javy Báez joins them with some offensive fun of his own.
El Mago just walked it off – after review – for the Detroit Tigers … in really dramatic fashion.
Couldn't have scripted it if we tried. pic.twitter.com/Qo2DoIQkyf

With a runner on third and two outs, Báez launched a deep fly ball to right field that appeared to be caught after a bobble off the glove of White Sox new right fielder AJ Pollock. But after review, the umpires got the call right: the ball first hit off the wall (just inches away from a walk off home run) meaning that it was no longer catchable for an out. In other words, that’s a base hit that scored the winning run. Wild, wild ending.
I love Javy Baez as a Detroit Tiger already 🐅

Báez finishes 2-5 with two-strike outs and the game-winning RBI. He also made a fantastic play in the field, in case you missed it.
