Although the Cubs signed Andrelton Simmons – primarily – to move Nico Hoerner all over the infield, there was also a concern that Hoerner might not be quite as good of a defensive shortstop as the team needed – especially in terms of his arm. Well, we’re just four games into the regular season, and so far, Hoerner has handled all of the routine plays just fine, and is occasionally dropping absolute gems like this.

Keep making plays like that, and shortstop will be your job for the foreseeable future.
