I continue to wish nothing but the best for Eloy Jimenez, individually. Sure, he was part of a trade that ultimately went poorly for the Cubs, but he is such a likable guy and potentially prodigious talent that I want to see him do well.
But the guy just can’t stay healthy, and it’s sad. He suffered an apparently bad one just now and had to be carted off the field. Hopefully it wasn’t as bad as it looked:

As you can see, he went down so awkwardly after hitting the bag, and it seemed to be a leg injury. He was able to get onto the cart with some help, but then he was taken off the field.

UPDATE: The most euphemistic explanation possible:
Eloy Jiménez left the game with right hamstring soreness. He is being further evaluated.

UPDATE 2: If I were a White Sox fan, I wouldn’t actually find this description entirely comforting:
LaRussa said Eloy's injury is significant but not projected at this time to be season ending.

Tony La Russa said the team’s initial hope with Eloy Jiménez is that his injury, while significant, is not season-ending, and would keep him out for less time that his torn pectoral tendon last season. More testing is needed to affirm that.

UPDATE 3: Still a lot of TBD in here, but it sounds like Jimenez could miss at least a couple months when all is actually said and done:
Tony La Russa cautioned that tomorrow’s examination for Jiménez at RUSH is critical for determining exactly what they’re looking at for his recovery.
