Although it wound up being mathematically unnecessary in the final accounting, Patrick Wisdom’s two-run homer in the 10th last night was a great moment here in the early part of the season. Having blown (another!) 3-0 lead, the Cubs had to head to extra innings against the Braves, and being able thereafter to pull out the win felt extra nice. Willson Contreras delivered the game-winning double, and Patrick Wisdom delivered the confirmation shot.
In the dugout, as Wisdom’s homer left the park, Seiya Suzuki demonstrated just how good it felt for all of us, because he erupted with joy:

Dude loves his new crew and loves to win. After the game, Patrick Wisdom expressed his appreciation for his new teammate.
“Oh, it’s great. It’s awesome,” Wisdom told Marquee Sports Network’s Taylor McGregor on the field after the game. “He’s the best. Everything he does is just funny. I love playing with him.”
And we love watching. My day has started off right.
